ONWASA
HR Director
"Just a quick note regarding the coordinators training last Friday…..the training was excellent and very well done. The information provided reframed how I think about exercise ---and we all know that sometimes it really takes that mind shift to remove some of the mental obstacles. The single most important statement I heard was “exercise is medicine”. Can you believe that was the first time I have ever heard it put that way? Knowing my own obstacles and learning more about how I can personally overcome them will enable me to better assist our employees. The information the group provided will have an impact not only on me personally, but on how we proceed with the implementation of our Wellness program within ONWASA. As an example, I spent about one hour exploring the CIGNA site this morning, signed up for the 10,000 steps program (helps to lead by example), have made plans to bring Cigna in for a lunch and learn, and will incorporate a monthly Wellness Corner in our newsletter beginning this month."
"I was very impressed with the knowledge, passion and professionalism that all the participants demonstrated. Please extend my sincere thanks to all participants. I am truly looking forward to bringing this program in house."
Cathy Johnson, Registered Nurse
Town of Hillsborough
"I feel having this wellness initiative is very beneficial to employees and employers. Getting a report of their health and wellness status forces employees to look at their lifestyle and to make changes as necessary. Remember you can’t change something if you don’t measure it. Employers benefit by having employees to be more proactive about their health so that risks are diagnosed early before they turn into major illnesses."
Franklin Deal
Town of Cape Carteret, Police Chief
"I feel that the Town employees of Cape Carteret are very lucky to be in the program. I know that it has made many of us realize that we have to start taking our health more seriously. The program made me realize that I personally had to do differently. I have started walking 3 miles aday and have started eating differently. I have lost 25 lbs. This had decreased my waist, lowered my blood pressure and has started to raise my good cholesterol to a higher level. Many of our employees have started exercising on a regular basis. Some have stopped eating the fast food every day. We look forward to your next visit."
"Funding this program shows that the town officials know how important this program is."
"If I can help you down here to get this program going, let me know."
"PS. Ive gone from a 40 to a 36 inch waist."
Billy Joe Farmer
Red Springs Town Manager
"I was very impressed with the workshop in Greenville and came away with much enthusiasm for beginning a Wellness Program for the Town of Red Springs. The quality and relevenacy of the information presented were the highest, as were the credentials of the presenters. A sense of positive energy was very much evident throughout the weekend. I look forward to working with Jessica and you during the upcoming evaluation phase of this program!."

"The NCLM Wellness Initiative is a great program. Not only does it promote more physically fit officers, but an overall healthier lifestyle. The staff has been great to work with and very supportive. All our participants have increased their health and physical fitness level. I recommend their program to all police officers."
"Your physical fitness level may be the factor that one day saves your life."
